Washington state headed toward tougher emission standards

Obama is making cars more expensive. That's great. Really, no problem. Car manufacturers are selling cars hand-over-fist. They can take some of that huge profit and add little emissions gadgets here and there.

President Barack Obama took the first step today toward allowing Washington and 13 other states to implement tough, new auto tailpipe emission standards, fulfilling a campaign pledge and reversing a controversial Bush administration decision made over the advice of federal scientists and lawyers.
